I'm in Paris! I got here on Sunday night after a million hours of flying, which wasn't that bad because I had an empty seat next to me so I got to stretch out and actually sleep. The first night I went out for fondue with my flatmate, her friend who is visiting from the states, and her boy friend. It as really good, but was the beginning of what has been three days of butter.
On Monday, our orientation week started. It's kind of boring because they haven't scheduled the activities very well so there is a lot of waiting around, during which we either walk endlessly or sit around in the gallery, which is currently filled with naked pictures, and the largest of which is of a naked man or men laying with a bunch of cats around, on what looks like a shell, wearing an iPod strapped to his leg.... yeah.
But yeah, so yesterday, after all out meetings we had some "gallette du roi" and fermented cider. After that we went on the "bateaux mouches" which is the tourist boat that runs on the river. But after surviving on the roof for about an hour and freezing our butts of, we decided we could see just as well downstairs, in the heated room.
Today was more meetings, a French placement test, some more meetings, and then a trip to two galleries and dinner at a restaurant. The galleries were cool, but again a little too much waiting around for stuff. Dinner was good but way way too heavy( ie salad with a packety thing of melted cheese and pears or apples inside, steak with mashed potatoes, and chocolate cake. It apparently cost something like 1150 euro for about 25 people so I'm glad I didn't have to pay 40 euro for it ). Me and my new friend Hari didn't really talk to anyone because we were two out of the three people at a very large table not from Parsons in New York. But it was ok, we talked and then when we left, we talked about them and made fun of them, which was enjoyable. After I got off the metro to go home I was able to go to the grocery store for the first time and finally get something to eat for tomorrow.
Overall its good to be so busy and forced to mingle, which I feel didn't happen in Syracuse, even though I've only managed to make two real friends here so far but I'm more than happy with that.
Yeah so I love it here and I've only been here two and a half days. It's so much more inspiring than Syracuse and I love being able to use French everyday, almost all day.
More later.

I'm getting really excited about Paris. Today I looked up stuff I want to do when I'm there and I could hardly breathe out of euphoria.
I know I might be setting myself up for disappointment, but right now I don't care.
In other news I'm reading Love in the Time of Cholera, which is amazing.
And I'm getting a new computer in Jan. Woo.

Today was a pretty good day. I found out I'm going to Paris for my spring semester. That in and of itself was amazing, but when I was in French I was looking through a magazine and I found the name of my writing teacher from last year had submitted a caption for one of the cartoons.
So yeah, awesomenes

Yesterday Sara and I went to Sunset to see "Paprika" which was awesome.
When we were leaving we rode the elevator with Quentin Tarantino.
